The Scandinavian chapter of God of War has ended, and now fans are wondering where Kratos will go. According to insider Tom Henderson, the new chapter of the series will be a prequel and will tell the story of the Spartan warrior's youth in Ancient Greece. The plot will focus on his relationship with his father Zeus, as well as the events that preceded his transformation into the Ghost of Sparta.
Henderson, however, does not rule out that we are talking not about a new game, but about remakes or remasters of the original three parts of the series. Meanwhile, another insider, Daniel Richtman, recently stated that the new part could take place in an ancient Egyptian setting - he referred to Sony's casting announcements, which were looking for actors with roots in the Middle East.
The latest game in the franchise, God of War: Ragnarök, was released in 2022 on PlayStation 4 and 5, and later made its way to PC. However, Santa Monica Studio has not yet officially confirmed what direction the series will take.
