Xiaomi does not plan to release new Mix Fold 5 and Mix Flip 2 models in 2025. This was previously reported by an insider at Digital Chat Station, and now the information has been confirmed by another source from China.
Despite the lack of new clamshells this year, the company is not curtailing research and development in this direction. This may mean that Xiaomi will return to the Mix line in 2026 or later.
In addition, the insider noted that the foldable smartphone market will face certain changes in 2025. In particular, "universal clamshells" will practically disappear, giving way to lighter and thinner models.
