A new video game based on Back to the Future is being developed

For the 40th anniversary of the science fiction franchise, its fans are in for a long-awaited surprise. One of the authors of the cult trilogy of films, Bob Gale, shared information that a new video game based on the series is in production. The project is still kept secret, but, according to the screenwriter, it may be presented as early as 2025.



Details about the development studio and gameplay features are not disclosed, but Gale noted that he had long dreamed of such a project. In addition, he recalled that several events are being prepared for the anniversary of the series, and post-production of a documentary about the production of a musical based on Back to the Future is being completed.



The last major video game title based on the cult science fiction Back to the Future: The Game from Telltale Games was released in 2010. It was an episodic adventure, the final release of which, OUTATIME, was released in 2011.
