Ubisoft Restarts Development of Far Cry Multiplayer

The studio has decided to restart production on the multiplayer Far Cry project, previously known under the code name Maverick. This was reported by well-known industry observer Tom Henderson.
Maverick was initially created as an online mode for Far Cry 7, but later Ubisoft wanted to make it a separate title with survival elements, the events of which should take place in Alaska. However, after another revision of the concept, the main development team was transferred to Far Cry 7, known under the working title Blackbird, and the spin-off is now being handled by the studio in Sherbrooke.

According to Henderson, Far Cry 7 may be released in 2025, although the deadline may shift to 2026-27. When Ubisoft will present an updated version of the multiplayer project remains a mystery.
