Former Rockstar Developer Doesn't Mind Lack of New GTA 6 Trailers

Former Rockstar North CTO Obbe Vermeij has expressed skepticism about the wisdom of releasing additional trailers for GTA VI. From the perspective of a seasoned developer, the current level of hype around the project is enough to ensure a successful release, and maintaining the intrigue could enhance the impact of the game's release.

The first and so far only trailer for GTA VI, shown in December 2023, introduced players to the main characters and a reimagined Vice City. The subsequent lack of information from Rockstar has caused concern among fans, especially given the planned release for next-gen consoles in the fall of 2025.

Vermeij drew an analogy to the situation around GTA IV, whose release was delayed shortly before the announced release date. He admits the possibility of a similar scenario for GTA VI ahead of Take-Two Interactive's August financial report, although the publisher continues to insist on plans to release the title in 2025, making a delay unlikely.
