French studio Sloclap, known for the game Sifu, has unveiled a new face for its football arcade game Rematch — legendary Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho. The published video shows the former Barcelona player visiting the developers’ office, where he was shown his digital version, which will appear in the game along with other famous footballers, including Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Manchester United midfielder Kobby Mainoo.
Rematch will be released in early access on June 19. The developers emphasize a unique approach to the football simulator, promising no loot boxes or pay-to-win mechanics, which was confirmed during a successful beta test with high online participation. The Sloclap project offers a fresh take on the sports games genre, combining arcade gameplay with the participation of real football stars.
