Nintendo Switch 2 Sets Sales Record – 5 Million in a Month

The new console has demonstrated impressive initial sales results, exceeding the 5 million mark in the first month after its release. According to data temporarily appearing on the official Nintendo website, the greatest demand was recorded in North America - about 1.8 million units, in Japan sales amounted to 1.47 million, in Europe - 1.18 million, and other regions provided about 550 thousand sales.
These figures significantly exceed the results of the original Nintendo Switch, which sold 2.74 million consoles in the same period in 2017. According to unofficial data, the total sales of Switch 2 could reach 5.4 million units, which exceeds even the initial figures of PlayStation 5 (3.4 million in four weeks).

Despite the console's higher price of $450 and new games' $80 price tag, demand remains high thanks to a strong launch portfolio of exclusives and anticipation of upcoming hits including Donkey Kong Bananza, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and Pokemon Legends Z-A. Nintendo quickly removed the statistics from its website and has yet to officially comment on exact sales figures.
