Rockstar Games is allegedly considering developing Red Dead Redemption 3

An anonymous source, allegedly associated with Rockstar Games, told Tech4Gamers about the company's plans to create a third part of the cult cowboy saga RDR. According to the insider, the project currently exists only as a concept, since all the studio's main efforts are focused on completing Grand Theft Auto VI, whose release is scheduled for 2025.

Although there are no details about a possible third installment, journalists assume that the game is in the very early stages of development. A hint about the continuation of the series was previously given by Strauss Zelnick, the head of Take-Two Interactive, who said in 2023 that the GTA and Red Dead franchises will continue to develop.

Red Dead Redemption 2, released in 2018, has received 178 Game of the Year awards and holds a rating of 97/100 on Metacritic, entering the top ten highest-rated projects in the history of the aggregator. The success of the previous parts makes the potential sequel one of the most anticipated projects in the gaming industry, although there has been no official confirmation from Rockstar Games yet.
