Retroid Unveils Budget Pocket Flip 2 with MediaTek Chip

Retroid has announced a budget modification of the Pocket Flip 2 portable console, replacing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset with MediaTek Dimensity 1100. Despite a slight decrease in graphics core performance by 11%, the new product demonstrates a 22% increase in CPU processing speed at a price of $ 199 versus $ 229 for the original version.






The device retained a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080p and a brightness of 500 nits, but received updated wireless modules Bluetooth 5.2 LE and Wi-Fi 6. The package includes 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, a 128 GB UFS 3.1 drive and a cooling system with a compact cooler. The battery capacity remained unchanged - 5000 mAh, although the charging power decreased from 27 to 18 watts.

The move allowed Retroid to offer a more affordable version of the flagship device while retaining key features for comfortable Android gaming. The device continues the company's line of foldable portable consoles, combining compactness with improved ergonomics compared to classic models.
