Cyberpunk 2077 Experiences New Popularity Surge Ahead of Upcoming Updates

Despite a difficult start to 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 continues to show an impressive return to the top sales. In the first week of July, the game took second place among paid projects on Steam, and its peak online reached 66 thousand concurrent players - the highest figure since the New Year holidays.

The growing interest in the CD Projekt Red project is explained by several factors. The Steam Summer Sale with a 50% discount made the game more accessible to new players. At the same time, the community is awaiting the release of a large-scale patch 2.3, which should add new customization features and improve the user interface - although its release, originally scheduled for June 26, was postponed for additional polishing.



A special contribution to the popularity was made by the announcement of the second season of the anime "Cyberpunk: Blade Runners", presented by Netflix in early July. This media synergy, along with the continued support of the developers, has turned the once-troubled release into a sustained success, with over 1.2 million players returning or logging into Night City for the first time in the last 30 days.
