Ubisoft Threatens to Sue Actor for Disclosing Information About Assassin’s Creed 4 Remake
Actor Matt Ryan, who voiced the main character Edward Kenway in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, found himself at the center of a scandal after he inadvertently hinted at a possible remake of the game. During a meeting with fans in late June, Ryan said that fans would soon have a reason to immerse themselves in the adventures of the pirate assassin again. His words, recorded on video and leaked online, were perceived as confirmation that Ubisoft was working on an updated version of the cult project.
The company’s reaction was not long in coming. According to the actor, Ubisoft representatives contacted him and threatened to sue for disclosing confidential information. Ryan admitted that he was unaware that he was recording his conversation with fans, and now he is forced to be careful in his statements.

Rumors about a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag have been circulating for a long time. Recently, the franchise's official X account (former Twitter) conducted a poll, in which this particular installment of the series won. In addition, users have discovered hidden references to the game on Steam, and a mysterious page has appeared in the PlayStation database, which is associated with a possible re-release. Insiders also report new game mechanics that may be included in the updated version. While Ubisoft has not officially confirmed the development of a remake, the situation with the actor only fuels interest in a possible announcement.
