A significant portion of players tested Battlefield 6 on minimum settings
Battlefield 6 technical director Christian Buhl revealed in an interview with Eurogamer that a significant portion of beta testers were running the shooter on computers that only met or fell short of the minimum system requirements. This confirmed the need for careful optimization for a wide range of configurations, including older hardware. The developers specifically adapted the game for weaker systems, involving technical specialists in the design of cards to ensure a stable frame rate.

The deliberate refusal to implement ray tracing was also part of the strategy to ensure the game's accessibility. The title is scheduled for release on October 10 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and the PC version will support FSR 4, DLSS 4 and XeSS 2 upscaling technologies to improve performance on various configurations. This approach reflects the growing importance of optimization in an industry where many players do not upgrade their hardware for years.
