Paramount and Activision Officially Announce Call of Duty Film Adaptation

This is not the first attempt at a film adaptation - in 2015, Activision already developed a concept for a cinematic universe with consultations from military experts, which included several films in the spirit of the Black Ops and Modern Warfare sub-cycles. At that time, director Stefano Sollima and screenwriter Scott Silver were involved in the project, but the initiative was frozen. Paramount has significant experience in game adaptations, including the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise and the Halo series. The announcement of the film coincides with the preparation for the release of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 game, scheduled for November 14, 2025.
