Apple has revealed the cost of out-of-warranty repairs for the iPhone 17 and Air — the most expensive breakdowns are related to the motherboard

The company has updated its price list for device maintenance and added new iPhone 17 and iPhone Air models to it. As before, free repairs are only available if a manufacturing defect is detected, and all other faults are paid for by the owner of the device.

The most expensive are the so-called "other damage", which means serious problems, including a broken motherboard. Depending on the model, their repair will cost $599-799. Replacing the display with the back glass costs $419-469, and installing a new battery costs $119 for most devices and $99 for the basic version. Separate replacement of the back panel will cost $159.

To reduce costs, users are offered to subscribe to AppleCare+, which extends the warranty and makes repairs cheaper. In the US, the service for the iPhone 17 is available for $11.99 monthly or $119.99 per year, and for other models in the line - for $13.99 or $139.99, respectively. Thus, the company once again confirmed that repairing gadgets without a subscription can be quite expensive.
