Borderlands 4 Launches With 2 Million Copies Sold, Overtakes Silksong on Steam

Analytics firm Alinea Analytics shared fresh data on video game sales for the past week, and the main event was the impressive success of Borderlands 4. The shooter, which became available just a few days ago, has sold more than 2 million copies across all platforms, of which over a million were on the PC version. On Steam, the project showed a particularly strong result - almost 750 thousand copies sold in its debut week, which ensured its leadership in the platform chart.

The financial indicators are also impressive: Borderlands 4 enriched its creators by almost $ 150 million and has already secured a place among the most profitable releases of 2025. Due to such a start, the entire series has approached the significant mark of 100 million copies sold, at the moment its total sales are 96 million.

Second place in the Steam chart went to Hollow Knight: Silksong, which sold more than half a million copies in a week. Overall, the title has surpassed the 6 million sales mark, cementing its status as one of the most successful indie releases in history. The third place went to the Peak project, the fourth to the original Hollow Knight, and the fifth to Shape of Dreams from the South Korean studio Lizard Smoothie. The latter title surprised with a dynamic start - about 200 thousand copies worldwide, half of which were sold in the first day after release.

Borderlands 4 is out on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
