The release of Borderlands 4 on Switch 2 has been postponed indefinitely

The series' quadriquel has had a far from flawless start: despite Gearbox Software's CEO claiming that PC player complaints were exaggerated, problems couldn't be avoided on consoles either. Against this backdrop, the news of the Switch 2 version's release being delayed was an expected development.

The developers stated that they need additional time to improve the port's quality. A precise release date has not yet been announced, but the studio hopes the release will coincide with the addition of the cross-save system, though this cannot be guaranteed.

The Switch 2 release was originally scheduled for October 4th, but Nintendo is now canceling all pre-orders in accordance with its policy. Users will be able to request a refund or receive a refund automatically starting September 26th.
