Insomniac has revealed the first gameplay of Marvel's Wolverine. The bloody action game starring Logan will be released in the fall of 2026.

Four years after its announcement, full gameplay of Marvel's Wolverine, developed by Insomniac Games, was finally revealed at State of Play. A long silence and a major data leak at the studio sparked rumors of its possible cancellation, but the project is still alive, and judging by the trailer, it will be one of the most brutal in the Marvel superhero franchise.

Inspired by the atmosphere of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the developers are emphasizing brutal action: the hero rips apart enemies with adamantium claws without hesitation, sparing no limbs. The studio admits that they were initially concerned that this level of violence would be too extreme for the Marvel brand.

The story campaign will span several locations around the world, including Canada, Japan, and the island of Madripoor, and iconic comic book characters will appear in the story. Mystique and Omega Red can already be spotted in the first trailer. Logan's face in the game is based on actor Liam McIntyre, known for his work on the series "Spartacus: Vengeance," who also provided the character's voice.

Marvel's Wolverine is scheduled for release in the fall of 2026. The game will be released exclusively for PlayStation 5.
