DOOM launched on a vape - almost

Enthusiasts continue to test the limits of classic gaming devices, porting DOOM to the most unexpected devices. This time, the experiment's subject was an e-cigarette. Blogger Aaron Christophel attempted to make a vape work as a fully-fledged gaming platform and "ported" the legendary shooter to it.

He used a model with a 32-bit ARM Cortex M4 processor, 384 kilobytes of memory, and 64 kilobytes of static memory, equipped with a touchscreen. Theoretically, this could be used to control the DOOM Slayer directly on the device's body, but it proved insufficient—the vape didn't have enough RAM to run DOOM.

To circumvent this limitation, Christophel connected the e-cigarette to a computer via USB and assembled an additional unit that processed data, displayed images, and allowed the vape to be used as both a screen and a controller. Moreover, the device is initially equipped with a microphone and Bluetooth support, so the blogger believes that it can be turned into, for example, a second display.
