GTA 6 may be coming to Switch 2 due to disagreements with Microsoft
Journalist Rhys Reilly of Kiwi Talkz reported that Take-Two Interactive is in talks with Nintendo about a possible release of GTA 6 on the upcoming Switch 2 console. The potential move stems from a conflict of interest between the publisher and Microsoft. Take-Two is unhappy with the corporation's increasing focus on PCs from Xbox, and the increase in the price of Game Pass Ultimate to $30 per month has caused a massive outflow of users, even leading to account management system crashes.

The publisher fears that such moves could seriously impact sales of GTA 6 on Xbox. As a compensation, the company is considering the Switch 2, believing that the platform's audience is significantly more mature today. Despite potential technical limitations, a cloud-based version or an optimized port remains a viable option. Moreover, Rockstar already had successful experience bringing L.A. Noire to Nintendo's hybrid console.
GTA 6 is officially scheduled for release on May 26, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, while a Switch 2 version, if an agreement is reached, may not be released until 2027.
