Microsoft is officially ending support for Windows 10, with upgrades available only for a fee.

Microsoft announced that Windows 10 support will end on October 14, 2025. Users will no longer be able to count on security updates, vulnerability fixes, or technical support. The end of the support cycle means the system will lose critical patches, which could increase the risk of vulnerabilities during continued use.

The company strongly encourages users to upgrade to Windows 11, noting that this will provide users with access to the latest features and enhanced data protection. For those whose devices don't meet the requirements for Windows 11, the Extended Security Updates program is available. This program provides the opportunity to receive security updates for an additional year, but for a fee. The alternative is to purchase a new computer with a modern operating system out of the box.
