Duck action game Escape from Duckov surpassed one million sales in five days
Steam's October hit was an unexpected one: the parody shooter Escape from Duckov from Team Soda and publisher bilibili became a true viral phenomenon, selling a million copies in just five days after its release.

Project producer Jeff Chen noted that this rapid success was possible solely through word of mouth—without a major advertising campaign, the game quickly gained popularity among Steam users. In the first 24 hours after its release on October 16th, the action game was purchased by over 200,000 people, and three days later, sales reached half a million copies. By the evening of the fifth day, over 255,000 users were playing Duckov simultaneously.
Despite the similar name, Escape from Duckov is only formally related to Escape from Tarkov—both games belong to the extraction shooter genre, but the "duck" version features an isometric perspective and is entirely single-player. The project offers absurd yet addictive gameplay, which helped it become one of the most talked-about releases of October. The game is available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
