The White House turned Trump into Master Chief after the Halo remake announcement
The US presidential administration unexpectedly intervened in the gaming industry debate. An image of Donald Trump dressed as Master Chief, the iconic hero of the Halo series, appeared on the White House's official social media accounts. The post was captioned "Power to the players," a response to GameStop's announcement of "ending the console wars." Symbolically, the announcement was prompted by the announcement of a remake of the first installment in the franchise, Halo: Campaign Evolved, which, for the first time, will be released not only on Xbox but also on PlayStation 5.

The administration's initiative provoked a mixed reaction. X (formerly Twitter) users were divided: some asked officials to "leave gaming alone," while others found the post amusing but noted that the American flag in the image was missing ten stars. Others recalled the problems with game censorship by payment systems and called on the government to focus on real-world issues, not memes.
The Halo: Campaign Evolved remake itself was officially unveiled on October 24, 2025. The developers promised a completely redesigned campaign with modern graphics, improved controls, new missions, enemies, and vehicles, as well as the ability to play solo or co-op. The release will take place in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, including access through Game Pass. The project will be released with Russian text translation, and blogger ElAnalistaDeBits has already compared the visual differences between the remake, remaster, and the original Halo: Combat Evolved.
