Cyberpunk creator wants to bring back Johnny Silverhand in the sequel
Mike Pondsmith, co-creator of the game's universe, stated that he wouldn't rule out the return of Johnny Silverhand in the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. In an interview with CD Projekt RED, he noted that he already has ideas for how such a plot twist could be implemented.
Interestingly, as early as the fall of 2025, actor Keanu Reeves, who portrayed the iconic anarchist rocker, expressed a desire to reprise his role. Pondsmith admitted that he was inspired by the news and that he was open to collaborating with Reeves, hinting that he knew how to "resurrect" Johnny for a new story.

The developer also thanked the actors who contributed to the original game and its expansions, specifically highlighting Reeves's contribution. He also added that he would love to see Scarlett Johansson in a future project, having even offered her a role in a potential sequel.
CD Projekt RED is currently actively working on a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. In May 2025, it was announced that the project had officially entered pre-production, but details about the plot and release date have not yet been revealed.
