Kingdom Come: Deliverance creator slams Netflix's The Witcher
Daniel Vávra, the creator of Kingdom Come: Deliverance and one of the developers of the original Mafia, has spoken out harshly against Netflix's new spin-off series The Witcher, which focuses on the Rats gang. The game designer stated that what is shown on screen bears no resemblance to the spirit of Andrzej Sapkowski's works and called on the creators to stop releasing such interpretations.

Vávra's position was supported by many users on the social network X. Fans agreed that Netflix has completely distorted the essence of The Witcher universe and transformed the grim killers from the original books into stylized pop stars. According to viewers, the series not only misrepresents the characters but also damages the franchise's reputation.
In Sapkowski's books, the Rats gang is presented as a group of ruthless criminals whose lives are filled with violence and cynicism. In the series, they are portrayed in a romanticized and almost glamorous manner, which caused a storm of indignation among fans of the original.
