11 years of waiting paid off: Tavern Keeper creator touched by the game's warm reception
Independent project developers often spend years on their creations, uncertain whether their work will find a response. For the team at Greenheart Games, who had been working on the tavern simulator Tavern Keeper for over eleven years, these doubts were especially acute, but the first days after its release turned into an emotional ordeal in the best sense of the word.
The game launched in Early Access in early November and immediately attracted the attention of fans of the cozy management sim genre. Just three days after its Steam launch, the project received "very positive" reviews, which was a huge relief for the team. One developer admitted he hadn't expected such a level of support and that the player reaction was so strong it brought him to tears. The numerous thanks, recommendations, and patience from the community were proof that the years of work had not been in vain, especially while the team was simultaneously busy fixing bugs in the latest release.

The creators recalled that the road had been long and difficult: they worked on Tavern Keeper without any guarantees of success and knew the game wouldn't become an instant hit. However, the positive feedback was a significant sign that their efforts had truly resonated with the audience.
Tavern Keeper was developed by the studio that previously released Game Dev Tycoon. Players will take control of a tavern, furnishing the premises, hiring staff, managing patrons' moods, and creating an atmosphere that will make them want to return.
