Rockstar employees demand the reinstatement of fired colleagues: more than 220 signatures on the petition

The situation surrounding mass layoffs at Rockstar North continues to escalate. Over 220 studio employees have issued a collective letter condemning management's decision to terminate the contracts of 31 employees laid off at the end of October. The signatories called for their immediate reinstatement.

Rockstar North explained that the dismissal of the affected employees, many of whom were union members, was related to alleged leaks of confidential data. However, the Independent Workers' Union of Great Britain (IWGB) disagrees with the official version and has already filed a lawsuit accusing the company's management of biased treatment of union members.

Following the layoffs, former Rockstar employees who belonged to the IWGB staged protests outside the offices of the studio and publisher Take-Two Interactive. The protesters claimed that the dismissal procedure violated UK labor law, as employees were informed of the decision without the participation of union representatives, which is contrary to established rules.

Meanwhile, the delay of Grand Theft Auto VI is fueling public attention. The game, which had already been delayed twice, is now expected to release on November 19, 2026, instead of the previously scheduled date.
