Fortnite is preparing a crossover with Kill Bill

Many users were disappointed by the lack of news about the PC version of GTA 6, and journalist Rhys Riley, known under the pseudonym Kiwi Talkz, discussed the likely reasons for the delay. In his opinion, even with a staff of over six thousand people, Rockstar cannot simultaneously prepare a release for all popular devices.

Riley noted that achieving optimization goals is becoming increasingly difficult with each passing season. He recalled that RDR 2, released in 2018, is still considered the technical pinnacle of the genre. For comparison, he cited the example of Nintendo, which needed an entire year to adapt Tears of the Kingdom to a single platform.

GTA 6 will have to be optimized for four consoles simultaneously—PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X, and Series S—and for multiple PC configurations, which makes the development process a labor-intensive and extremely time-consuming undertaking. If the studio had attempted to release the PC version simultaneously with the console versions, the launch, according to the insider, could have been plagued by numerous problems.

He added that he had heard from sources within the company about GTA 6's incredibly advanced technological capabilities, which many other studios will struggle to replicate in the coming decades.

The game is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Despite another release date delay, journalists report that the project's content has already been completed. It was recently reported that Rockstar laid off several dozen employees due to internal difficulties.
