Ubisoft has officially announced the creation of a series based on the Far Cry universe
Despite the difficult situation within Ubisoft, the company has decided to expand the Far Cry brand and present it as a television series. It has been confirmed that the project will be an anthology, like the game series: each season will offer a standalone story with a new cast, a unique setting, and its own conflict. Therefore, the creators are aiming for multiple seasons.
The pilot season will be directed by Noah Hawley, known for his work on Bones, Fargo, and Legion. Rob McElhenney, known for his work on the sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, will star. The show will air on Hulu and Disney+, ensuring a wide audience.

Hawley noted that he is drawn to the Far Cry structure itself, which offers independent stories united by a shared perspective on human nature and the chaotic world in which the events unfold. According to him, working on such a large-scale and flexible project was an opportunity to realize long-standing creative ideas together with McElhenney.
The series' exact release date has not yet been revealed. It is possible that Ubisoft will attempt to synchronize the premiere with the release of the new Far Cry game, whose development has reportedly encountered significant difficulties.
