The Witcher IV narrowly missed out on the title of most anticipated release, losing to GTA VI by just 1.5 percent
The 2025 Golden Joystick Awards have already concluded, but the buzz surrounding the awards continues. Following the results' publication on the event's official X page, public voting data was released, revealing what had been left unseen at the main ceremony.

According to the statistics, The Witcher IV came close to winning the Most Anticipated Release category, trailing GTA VI by just 1.5 percentage points. This narrow margin was enough for Rockstar's project to retain its lead, but the very fact of such a close race sparked excitement among fans.
The phenomenal support for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 also drew attention. In several categories, audiences gave the game such a convincing lead that the other nominees had little room to compete. The French RPG continues to gain popularity, becoming one of the biggest surprises of the year.
Clair Obscur faces another major test: participation in The Game Awards 2025. Players are increasingly optimistic that the project can repeat its success and once again compete for the Game of the Year title, though some players expect the jury to focus on other notable late-season releases.
