Lucasfilm announced a full-fledged remake of KOTOR 2 with restored content

Lucasfilm Games Vice President Douglas Reilly confirmed the production of a full remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords, codenamed "Juliet". The title not only includes technical graphics and gameplay updates for current platforms, but also integrates content from the renowned fan-made Restored Content Modification (RCM), including a revised and expanded ending.

Reilly also clarified the situation with the remake of the first installment in the series: after problems at the original developer, Aspyr, the project was handed over to Mad Head Games, known for projects like Scars Above and the upcoming Hellraiser: Revival. The studio's website states that it is working on an unannounced AAA title based on the well-known franchise, which is consistent with the information regarding the KOTOR remake.

The cancellation of a separate DLC pack containing restored content for the Nintendo Switch version of KOTOR 2 was due to legal complications with the rights to fan-made content, but these issues do not affect the full-fledged remake.
