RE fans have long suspected that Leon Kennedy would return in the new horror game, and now they have good reason to believe their suspicions are correct. An alternate cover image for Resident Evil Requiem on the PlayStation Store has been spotted online, featuring a significantly older Leon alongside the heroine, Grace. The unusual cover image surfaced when users attempted to pre-load the game on their console.

Interest in the character's return had already been building. Insider Dusk Golem claimed that Leon would play a key role in Requiem, although the exact details of his involvement are still unknown. Fans are speculating: some are hoping he will be the co-protagonist, but recent leaks have hinted that the central figure in the plot will be Rose, Ethan Winters' daughter from the seventh and eighth installments.

Resident Evil Requiem is set to release on February 27, 2026, with a new trailer expected at The Game Awards 2025.
