Analysts have recorded a sharp increase in sales of Expedition 33 after its victory at The Game Awards 2025

The game's triumph at TGA 2025 had an almost immediate impact on its commercial performance. According to data from Alinea Analytics, the game's sales increased significantly immediately after the ceremony, adding approximately 200,000 copies in a short period of time.

The PC version accounted for the majority of these new sales: approximately 76% were sold on Steam. PlayStation 5 owners accounted for approximately 21% of the increase, while Xbox accounted for approximately 3%. Additionally, approximately 52,000 players discovered the RPG through Game Pass, which also contributed to its overall reach.

This surge pushed total sales of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 past the 6 million mark. Alinea Analytics experts described the impact of The Game Awards as a rapid and extremely noticeable effect, rare even for major releases.

Comparing sales dynamics before and after the ceremony, the difference is particularly striking. In the three months leading up to the awards, the game consistently sold an average of 12,000 copies per day. After the TGAs, sales began to rise rapidly, reaching approximately 92,000 copies sold on peak days.

The Game Awards 2025 took place on the night of December 11th and 12th, and at this event, Expedition 33 emerged as the clear favorite, winning nine awards, including the most prestigious, Game of the Year.
