According to him, the game is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, and the project itself will mark the beginning of a new storyline unrelated to either Modern Warfare or Black Ops.

The narrative will reportedly center on entirely new characters, and the action will take place in the late 1990s or early 2000s. This era-specific setting should significantly differentiate the game from recent installments in the franchise and give it its own identity. The developers will allegedly retain the omni-move system but will ditch the tactical sprint, making the gameplay less cluttered.

The studio is also discussing the return of the Pick 10 system, familiar to fans of classic Call of Duty games.
