Tencent invests in ultra-realistic shooter Unrecord

The Chinese corporation Tencent has acquired a minority stake in the French studio Drama Studios, which is developing the hardcore first-person shooter Unrecord. The exact amount of the deal was not disclosed, but the funds will be used to expand the team and accelerate the project's production.

The studio noted that the partnership will allow it to focus on realizing the original creative vision and bringing the game to the level the community expects. Tencent, in turn, emphasized its confidence in the small team's potential and the progress already achieved, especially given the developers' limited resources.

Unrecord was announced in 2023 and quickly gained attention thanks to its hyper-realistic debut trailer, which many believed to be real footage. A release date for the shooter remains unannounced.
