Silent Hill could become an annual series – Konami is preparing regular releases

The Silent Hill franchise, long dormant, may return with regular releases in the coming years. Series producer Motoi Okamoto stated that Konami is considering a strategy of releasing approximately one game in the Silent Hill universe each year. He stated that the brand is once again actively developing, with more projects in the works than have been officially announced so far.

The exact timeframe for this strategy has not yet been disclosed, but the company hopes to maintain consistent interest in the series and regularly share development updates. Okamoto emphasized that the team's goal is to restore Silent Hill to its status as a persistent and evolving franchise, rather than a one-time return. He acknowledged that this pace is ambitious, but promised to make every effort to meet the planned schedule.

The series' revival has already begun. The remake of Silent Hill 2 was released in October 2024, and Silent Hill f is scheduled for September 2025. Several other projects in the universe are also known to be in the works. Rumors suggest Silent Hill: Townfall could be released on March 26, 2026, while the remake of the first Silent Hill game entered active production in the fall of 2025.

Okamoto previously shared his thoughts on the future direction of the series, noting that the team is considering unusual locations for new games. Potential locations included Russia, Italy, and South Korea, which could significantly expand the geography and atmosphere of Silent Hill in future projects.
