A deleted underwater scene has been discovered in the Hollow Knight: Silksong files
A curious discovery has resurfaced in the Hollow Knight: Silksong fan community. Reddit user Old_Ambassador1702 reported that while examining files from an early version of the game for Nintendo Switch, he stumbled upon a previously unknown video clip that isn't present in the available builds of the game.
Hidden Silksong cutscene

The file, named Submersible_Travel.mp4, is a short scene or transition between locations, showing a submarine moving to the right. Initially, the discovery was linked to the upcoming naval expansion Sea of Sorrow, but metadata analysis revealed that the clip was created as early as December 14, 2020. This doesn't align with the expansion's announcement, which wasn't until 2025.
Since then, players have concluded that this is cut content that, for one reason or another, didn't make it into the final version of Silksong. The community isn't ruling out the possibility that the developers could return to this idea and implement it in an upcoming DLC. Team Cherry has not yet officially commented on the discovered scene.
The Sea of Sorrow expansion is scheduled for release in 2026 and will be free for all owners of the original game.
