Rumor: PlayStation 5 hacking vulnerability discovered on Star Wars game disc
The enthusiast community has once again begun to talk about a possible PlayStation 5 hack. While most users were relaxing in late December, hackers allegedly found a unique loophole that allows them to bypass the console's security without complex system manipulation.

According to the creators of the new jailbreak, the key to the vulnerability was a disc copy of Star Wars Racer Revenge—a remastered edition of the early 2000s racing game. This is an unpatched physical copy that allows third-party code to be run through the Hall of Fame menu. This bug was already patched in the digital version of the game, making it of no interest to hackers.

The news immediately impacted the market. Within days of the information being released, Racer Revenge skyrocketed in price, becoming a sought-after collector's item. Copies on eBay range from $150 to $800. The excitement isn't just due to rumors of a hack: back in 2019, Limited Run Games only released 8,500 discs, making the game initially considered rare and hard to find.
