Carmageddon: Rogue Shift has received a release date
The game was unveiled just a month ago at The Game Awards 2025 and immediately surprised viewers with its rapid development. Reboots of similar series typically take years to reach release, but in this case, the developers decided not to drag things out and have already announced a specific release date.
34BigThings released a second trailer for the game and revealed new details on the PlayStation Blog. The game is set in 2050, when the world is on the brink of destruction due to endless wars and a zombie outbreak known as the Hollows. The protagonist enters the deadly Carmageddon tournament, hoping for a chance to escape the dying planet. However, to do so, he must first reach the spaceport with the last shuttle.

The game is a roguelike on wheels. As players progress, they will gain access to 15 different cars with a deep customization system, including dozens of upgrades and unusual abilities, including the ability to restore the car from explosions. Races are randomly generated, and the increasing difficulty is designed to make each run unpredictable.
Carmageddon: Rogue Shift will be released on February 6th on PC and PlayStation 5. Pre-orders are now available on the PlayStation Store, where the game is priced at $40.
