The Power of Speedruns: Gaming Community Raises Nearly $2.5 Million to Fight Cancer
The latest Awesome Games Done Quick marathon once again proved that a passion for video games can be truly beneficial. The AGDQ 2026 speedrunning festival concluded with impressive charitable results, continuing a long-standing tradition of supporting medical initiatives.

The event took place from January 4th to 10th, without a long break following the holidays. Throughout the week, speedrunners demonstrated their skill and innovative approaches to gaming, surprising viewers with bold run formats. The program featured both classic and modern titles, and the runs themselves often turned into a real spectacle thanks to their unusual controllers and record-breaking speeds.
The streams featured an entertaining program and an active fundraiser. As a result, viewers and participants donated over $2.44 million. All proceeds will go to the Prevent Cancer Foundation, where they will support research and programs aimed at fighting cancer.
