An insider has denied rumors of imminent remasters of Fallout 3 and New Vegas
Renowned insider and Windows Central editor Jez Corden commented on rumors circulating in the community about a possible surprise release of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas remasters. According to him, the updated versions of these games are not expected to be released anytime soon, contradicting popular speculation about a possible announcement during the upcoming Xbox Developer Direct presentation on January 22, 2026.

The rumors were fueled by unusual activity on Steam related to the franchise, as well as technical issues that prevented users from leaving reviews for the original games, with the platform displaying a message stating that the games were supposedly not yet released. Another factor was the discovery of a countdown timer on the official Fallout website, although Corden maintains that this element is unrelated to the potential remasters.
The insider continues to gather information from verified sources to clarify the actual development timelines for the updated versions of the classic RPGs. According to his preliminary estimates, the Fallout 3 remaster may be released earlier than the updated version of Fallout: New Vegas, which is logical from the point of view of the chronology of the original releases.
