Rumors of GTA VI coming to Switch 2 at the same time as consoles have raised doubts

Information has surfaced online about a possible simultaneous release of GTA VI on the Nintendo Switch 2 alongside the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions. The rumor was originated by podcaster Rhys Rielly, known as Kiwi Talkz, who cited an anonymous source in India. According to him, Rockstar is allegedly considering launching the game on all platforms simultaneously. Rielly himself dismissed the information, noting that he views it more as a source of controversy than a realistic scenario.

This emerging theory contradicts earlier insider reports. NateTheHate and Nash Weedle confirmed that the studio is indeed testing GTA VI on Switch 2 devkits, but such tests do not yet confirm readiness or approval for a full port. Furthermore, if the title were to release on the new Nintendo console, they believe it would only be a later release.

Rockstar's official position remains unchanged: GTA VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Technical experts, including the Digital Foundry team, also express doubts that such a large-scale project will be able to run on a portable device without significant compromises to the visuals and world content.
