Battlefield 2 has been transformed into GTA: San Andreas – a mod adds gang wars with tanks
An Indonesian enthusiast under the pseudonym MOD Company has released a major user-made modification for Battlefield 2 that radically changes the look of the classic shooter. Called Bustafield 2: HoodLine, the project effectively transports players to the atmosphere of GTA: San Andreas, combining the street conflicts of Los Santos with the scale of military battles.
The mod's author has almost completely replaced the original Battlefield 2 assets, including character models, environments, and visual style. Instead of the familiar battlefield, players find themselves in the urban areas of San Andreas, where tanks, helicopters, and armored vehicles are used alongside infantry. Although the mod has been available since last year, it has only recently gained widespread attention.

Bustafield 2: HoodLine offers an unusual combination of team tactics, a class system, and open-world environments. Players can form squads, choose roles such as medics, engineers, and other units, and engage in large-scale firefights between factions.
The modification includes ten maps recreated based on San Andreas locations. Due to engine limitations, each location only supports two opposing sides, and the available modes are "Capture" and "Assault".
