Rumors point to Mass Effect 5 entering active development
The fifth Mass Effect game remained a project without a clear outline for many years, but signs are emerging that work on the game is finally moving forward. BioWare executive producer Michael Gamble has announced that the studio has begun the next phase of production, launching a search for a key manager for the new chapter of the space saga.
BioWare's official website has posted a job opening for a Production Director, who will coordinate teams and collaborate with both internal departments and external partners. The job description emphasizes the need to champion the project's overall creative vision and deliver it to the highest possible quality. The candidate is expected to have extensive experience in the AAA segment, a deep understanding of the role-playing genre, and strong leadership skills.
The very existence of this position hints at the completion of the preliminary planning phase and the transition to full-scale development. This seems like a logical step, given that Mass Effect 5 was officially unveiled back in 2020, when the first teaser was shown to the public. Since then, little new information has emerged about the project, and the current signals give fans cautious hope that the series is indeed returning.
