An insider has denied the presence of built-in magnets in the Galaxy S26 Ultra
According to reliable insider Ice Universe, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra flagship smartphone will not feature a built-in magnetic mounting system similar to the iPhone's MagSafe technology. The source claims that connecting to Qi 2 accessories will require the use of special magnetic cases, and the device itself does not contain magnets. This refutes earlier rumors about the possible inclusion of built-in magnetic functionality in Samsung's new flagships.

The insider did not provide information on whether the company had considered implementing such a technology during the development stage or whether the reports were initially erroneous. Comments on the publication hypothesized that the lack of built-in magnets may be due to the need to maintain the functionality of the separate touch-sensitive layer for the S Pen stylus, which uses magnetic technology to sense position and may interfere with other magnetic systems.
The Galaxy S26 series is scheduled to launch on February 25.
