Nintendo announced a new installment in the sports series Mario Tennis Fever.

Nintendo, in partnership with developer Camelot, officially unveiled the upcoming sports game Mario Tennis Fever with the debut trailer. The two-minute CGI clip shows a major tennis tournament featuring key characters from the Mario universe.

The video showcases various matches: a doubles match between Mario and Luigi versus Wario and Waliuigi, the graceful play of Princess Peach, and Bowser's devastating court-damaging shots. The central gameplay mechanic is the new "Fever" system, a special meter that, when filled, allows characters to perform powerful and spectacular attacks that are extremely difficult for opponents to counter.

The clip also showcases the game's diverse locations, including courts in a desert oasis, an abandoned estate, and futuristic platforms floating in the clouds. The visuals and gameplay footage demonstrate that the project fully utilizes the capabilities of Nintendo's next-generation console, boasting excellent detail and smooth animation.

Mario Tennis Fever is said to be the most expansive title in the series, offering both an expanded single-player story campaign and advanced multiplayer functionality. The project has the potential to surpass the success of Mario Power Tennis, released for the GameCube.
