Battlefield 6 developers announced a second season with two maps, motorcycles, and night battles
Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios officially unveiled the second season of the shooter Battlefield 6, set to launch on February 17. The developers released a gameplay trailer and a roadmap, which divides the season into three phases, each lasting approximately a month.
The first phase, titled "Extreme Measures," will feature the "Contaminated" map, set on the mountain slopes of Germany, on the site of a former NATO airbase. Its scale is comparable to the classic maps "Saint-Quentin" from Battlefield 1 and "Arras" from Battlefield 5. This location will also introduce the VCR-2 assault rifle, M121A2 machine gun, GRT-CPS semi-automatic rifle, and HTI-MK2 anti-drone gadget. Engineers will receive the Igla anti-aircraft missile system, and the legendary AH-6 Little Bird helicopter will take over the skies. The key mechanic of this phase will be the psychoactive gas VL-7, which causes hallucinations and forces the use of gas masks.

The second phase of Nightfall begins on March 17th and will introduce players to the underground Hagental base, a compact location for close-quarters combat in complete darkness. Players will have to switch between night vision goggles and flashlights, risking blinding their enemies. This chapter will introduce the M1030 Dirt Bike, the CZ3A1 and VZ.61 submachine guns, and a new point of interest in the REDSEC battle royale mode—Defense Testing Complex 3.
The final phase of Hunter/Prey will begin on April 14th. It will bring the Operation Augur limited-time mode, inspired by Battlefield 1's Operations, portal updates, a bonus Battle Pass path, the LTV armored vehicle, and a melee weapon—the machete. The release was originally planned for January, but was pushed back to allow for polishing of the content based on community feedback.
