Contrary to early speculation that the outdated design with a wide notch would be retained, the new model will feature a modern Dynamic Island cutout, visually aligning it with the more expensive models in the lineup. Furthermore, the smartphone will support MagSafe magnetic wireless charging, a feature sorely lacking in its predecessor. The front-facing camera will also be updated and, according to the source, will feature a square 18-megapixel sensor similar to that used in the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro.

Most other specifications will remain unchanged. The device will retain a 6.1-inch display with a 60 Hz refresh rate, a battery capacity of approximately 4,000 mAh, and a single-camera 48-megapixel main camera. The processor will presumably be the A19 chip, along with an updated modem and wireless module, which should improve signal quality and power efficiency. The device is expected to be unveiled on February 19, with a starting price of $599 for the version with 128 GB of internal storage.
