A GTA: Vice City mod offers a new story for Lance Vance with mechanics from San Andreas
The modding team at Northstar Games has released a major story expansion for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, titled The Backstabber's Blues. The project shifts the narrative focus entirely to Lance Vance, offering a glimpse into the familiar world through the eyes of this charismatic character.
Players have twelve full-fledged story missions, complemented by side activities and quests from random passersby. The developers have also added eleven new vehicles and three weapons, expanding the game's options. Particular attention has been paid to the wardrobe: twenty-two unique outfits have been added to the game, which can be found in specialized stores. Notably, the stores themselves now feature detailed interiors, and collecting clothes becomes a distinct passion for Lance.
The Vice City map has also been updated, with new safehouses, bars, and other establishments adding more variety to exploring the city. One of the most interesting new features is the fitness mechanic, borrowed from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Characters can gain or lose weight based on their lifestyle, which directly affects their appearance. Regular eating and exercise maintain fitness, while overeating leads to obesity.
Initial reviews of the mod are overwhelmingly positive, but users are warning of potential technical issues that may arise during gameplay.
