Ubisoft confirmed the development of new Assassin's Creed and two Far Cry games
In an interview with Variety, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot revealed plans for future projects in two of the publisher's key franchises. According to him, Vantage Studios is already actively working on several new installments in the Assassin's Creed series, with both traditional single-player titles and multiplayer-focused projects in development. The main goal of these games is to expand the franchise's already impressive audience, which surpassed thirty million active players in 2025.

As for the Far Cry series, the publisher's ambitions are no less ambitious. Guillemot confirmed that two projects set in the popular shooter universe are being developed within the company. Management has high hopes for them and considers future releases promising. At the same time, the Ubisoft CEO reiterated the strategic direction announced last year: future games in the series will place a stronger emphasis on multiplayer elements to retain players' attention over the long term.
Interestingly, information about the development of new Far Cry games has previously leaked online thanks to insiders. In November 2025, screenshots surfaced that, according to renowned journalist Tom Henderson, were of an Extraction shooter set in the Far Cry universe. However, Henderson also noted at the time that the project was on the verge of cancellation, and now the official confirmation of the two games' development could mean that these difficulties have been overcome, or that they are in fact entirely different titles.
