Call of Duty is successfully testing on the Nintendo Switch 2, according to an insider
In the latest episode of his podcast, Windows Central journalist and editor Jez Corden shared information about the progress of the adaptation of the cult shooter series for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console. According to him, internal testing of the game on the new platform is proceeding quite well, which gives reason to be optimistic about the franchise's prospects for appearing on the hybrid system from the Japanese manufacturer.
Corden emphasized that this isn't just speculation or rumor, but a legally binding obligation. Under the agreements Microsoft entered into with regulators when acquiring Activision Blizzard, the company is obligated to release CoD games on Nintendo consoles. Therefore, the shooter's arrival on Switch 2 is only a matter of time, not a matter of debate.

However, the specific entry in the franchise that will be the first to appear on the new platform remains unknown. The journalist allows for several scenarios: it could be the most recent release in the series, but alternatives are also possible. Developers can choose one of the older titles, which is technically easier to port to less powerful hardware, or they can opt for the free-to-play battle royale game Warzone, which would quickly attract a mass audience without requiring a purchase. The definitive answer to this question will only be known after official announcements from Microsoft and Nintendo.
